CPWA and County Water Authority Ink Deal

2/26/2010
The Clifton Park Water Authority and the Saratoga County Water Authority have finished a deal that will have the CPWA purchasing a minimum of 500,000 gallons of water per day. The CPWA has contracted with Trinity Construction to build the connection to the County system, and water should begin to flow into the Clifton Park system sometime in April. The purchase from the County represents about 1/6th of the average daily demand on the CPWA system. As a result, customers in the northern end of the system, mostly north of Ushers Road, should receive a majority of their water from the SCWA system. This will mean softer water for those customers. The CPWA has CT Male Associates looking at the possibility of softening the water at its Boyack Road Treatment Plant, which supplies approximately 60% of the system's water on a daily basis.
